Executive Director at the British American Business Council in Northern California, Jo Healey, speaks about how the non-profit organisation has evolved over the last 60 years with 22 chapters in total in America and the United Kingdom. The BABC offers practical business expansion opportunities and Jo discusses how this is achieved through high-caliber networking and marketing opportunities, as well as top quality business intelligence and regulatory advice to its members.
Jo explains how the BABC further helps businesses in the UK expand in the United States and more specifically in the Bay area where she is situated. It is more than just offering valuable advice, Jo says, as practical assistance from the BABC allows for companies to expand far quicker than if they had to go about making a presence in America on their own.
Since 1992 Jo has been evolved with the organisation and talks about how the desire to help create business opportunities and for them to grow is what attracted her to the job. Jo says that being based in Northern California has its advantages, with a large number of British expats working for a wide range of companies in the area.
The Rugby Business Network recently became a member of the BABC and Jo is looking forward to sharing information and resources, ahead of the Rugby World Cup Sevens being staged in San Francisco in 2018.
Jo discusses past Rugby related events the BABC held to facilitate business networking opportunities and looks ahead to the Silicon Valley Sevens Tournament and the Las Vegas Sevens event, which will allow for more opportunities for the BABC to get involved and share with businesses the ways in which they are able to assist them. Jo lists some of the upcoming major events the BABC will be hosting for its members in Northern California and urges any businesses looking to become members to visit their website for more information.
