The recent Academy Award nominations brought good news for the Mostly British Film Festival. The Irish actor Paul Mescal was nominated as best actor for “Aftersun.” This is one of two films highlighted by the festival with a Paul Mescal Double Feature. The other film of his, “God’s Creatures,” screens at 1 pm on February 11 followed by “Aftersun” at 3 pm.
Also nominated for an Oscar is “All That Breathes,” competing in the best documentary category. This incandescent Indian film plays at the festival at 5 pm on February 16.
Mostly British has added to its schedule “The Legend of Molly Johnson,” an Australian drama about the trials of a frontier wife and mother in the Snowy Mountain ranges. It screens at 9 pm on February 11, replacing the documentary “The Last Daughter.”
