Dear Members and Friends of the BABC,
Following the Annual General Meeting of the BABC Northern California, I’m delighted to share that the 2014 Board of Directors and Executive Board has been elected.
After serving on the Board as President of the BABC for a highly rewarding three years, I’m pleased to announce that Nicholas Unkovic (Partner, Squire Patton Boggs) has been elected to take over as President. Nick has been an enthusiastic contributor to the BABC for more than 25 years and he is an excellent ambassador for the BABC, for its members and mission.
I’m honored to remain on the Board, now as Chairman, and would like to extend a huge thank you to Stuart Keirle, outgoing Chairman, for his incredible commitment and dedication to the BABC. I would also like to thank all of Directors who have reaffirmed their commitment to helping the organization grow and serve our burgeoning British-American community of world-class organizations and individuals. We are also pleased to welcome some new members to the Board (see below).
The Board’s key responsibility is to ensure the BABC Northern California delivers on its Mission of “fostering commerce, friendship & economic growth between Northern California & the United Kingdom” and that we continue to meet the needs of our membership. We also value and foster our partnerships with the British Consulate, UK Trade and Investment and the many other international chambers and associations whose involvement in our community add to the depth, richness and effectiveness of what we offer.
We continue to plan an exciting slate of business, cultural and sporting events and programs tailored towards the needs of our Membership. As members and friends of the BABC, you are both the life-blood and the heart and soul of our organization. We are always striving to improve our offerings, with a strong focus on delivering value, so your input is extremely important and valuable as we endeavor to be the best we can be! In the next couple of weeks, we will be conducting a survey to help us understand how we can improve, so I strongly encourage you to participate and let us know how we are doing so that we can enrich your experience and add to the diversity of our community across all membership levels.
Both Nick and I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events and don’t forget to Save The Date for the biggest and best holiday celebration of the year – The 51st BABC Annual Christmas Luncheon – Friday December 12th, 2014!
Sincerely,
