British American Business Council Northern California Elects New Board Members

Additions will enhance board’s focus on transatlantic trade and investment and insights on UK-US business issues

 

San Francisco. June 29, 2022: The British American Business Council Northern California (BABCSF) announced today the election of six new Board members at its 66th Annual General Meeting, expanding the Board to 27 leaders representing a variety of UK-US interests. Joe White, UK Tech Envoy and British Consul General, Tammy Sandhu, Deputy British Consul General, and Matthew Caron, Vice Consul for the UK Department of International Trade, were also named Honorary Directors.

New officers also were selected and ratified, with Stephen Wares, who leads business development in the US for UK Accounting firm Crowe, moving from President to Chairman. Maya Mancuso, who heads US business development for international law firm Bird & Bird, was named President. Catherine House, National Healthcare Chair at SVN | Capital West Partners was named Senior Vice President, Edward Grenville, founder of Inspire Business Law Group and a former Chairman, continues in the role of Secretary. Stephen Legg, Partner at Grant Thornton continues as Treasurer and Alan Mackay, Founder and CEO of Werqwise, remains as Vice President, Membership and Marketing.

“Continuing to enhance the expertise, breadth and depth of our board is essential as the BABCSF expands its offerings and networking opportunities to businesses and executives throughout the region,” Wares said. “We have worked diligently to ensure that our Board represents experts from a cross section of industries and sectors who can help further the mission of promoting transatlantic trade and investment.”

Wares also thanked long-time Board member Janis MacKenzie, president of MacKenzie Communications, who is leaving the Board after more than 20 years of service.
