BABC 28th Annual Economic Lunch 2018 (Presented by Squire Patton Boggs and ACCA USA)

The 28th Annual BABC Economic Forecast Luncheon welcomed more than 140 guests to The City Club of San Francisco for an enlightening and lively discussion. We were delighted to welcome our expert panel of: Peter Flint (NFX), Ninh Chung (Silicon Valley Bank) and Sean Randolph (Bay Area Council Economic Institute) and our moderator Leslie Hook (The Financial Times). The event covered a number of topics, and provided attendees with some expert insight into the state of global and local economic affairs, and some bold predictions for the future.

As the discussion was off the record we’ll keep the details brief, the panelists gave a positive view of the current state of the economy, and had a healthy discussion on a number of topics, covering local, national and global topics. They discussed the investment outlook, real estate, tax reform, and foreign investment. They also fielded some pertinent questions from audience members, leading them to talk about cryptocurrencies, and the future of the labor market and education in the age of AI and workforce automation.

Our thanks again go out to our sponsors Squire Patton Boggs, ACCA USA and Vistra for their support in making this event happen, and of course to our panelists and to all of our guests. We’re already looking forward to next year!
