On September 17th, thousands of Aramark employees from all around the world enriched and nourished lives by inspiring families to lead healthier lives and help youth and adults achieve lifelong success in the workplace. For the Bay Area, Aramark volunteers participated in the company’s annual Aramark Building Community Day (ABC Day) by coming to Raphael House to build a new rooftop garden.
Led by Simon Elliot, a BABC Board member and one of Aramark’s 25 “Outstanding Volunteer of the Year” awardees, the volunteer group of more than 30 people created gardening areas to be enjoyed by parents and children alike. Raphael House residents will be encouraged to help tend to the gardens, providing opportunities to enjoy and learn about plants and flowers.
Supplies for the project such as large portable gardening bins, potting soil, and seedlings will be provided through a generous $2,500 ABC Day grant from Aramark.
