Alameda Hogmabay! Pipe-athon ACS Fundraiser 2015

And we’re back again!

For the second year, I’m going to be playing Auld Lang Syne on the bagpipes in 18 bars in Alameda on New Year’s Eve, complete with Jake and Elwood, The Collectors!!

We’re fundraising for the American Cancer Society – this year in memory of my Dad, Bertie MacKay (a great bloke!) who died in February this year from cancer, in the hope that any donations can go towards a future cure.

Check out the video of last year’s inaugural Pipe-athon. We made over $3,000 for ACS!

Last year we made it round the Island City in 1 hour 22 minutes, walking, running and using the Pipe-mobile for longer distances. This year we’re starting again in the East End of Alameda on Park Street at 6pm, and will be working our way across the island to the finish on Webster Street, finishing by around 7.30pm.

Please come out and support us if you can – we’ll publish the route before the day – it’s great to see people out early on NYE, getting in the spirit, and it helps the bars as well!!

If you can’t make it out on the night please consider donating online to the cause here.Anything helps!

Many thanks for all your generosity and have a great New Year!!

Cheers!

Andy MacKay
