The glorious sunshine that greeted attendees as they arrived at the iconic Presidio Golf Course on Friday 2^nd June could have been argued to be a premonition for the fantastic day to come. The day of the 7^th Annual Golf Summer Scramble had arrived, and thanks to meticulous effort from the AACC, BABC and SACC, it looked to be Bigger and Better than ever!

All perfectly orchestrated by the tournament team at the Presidio, attendees were welcomed with lunch and a gift bag filled to the brim with kindly donated goodies prior to taking their seats in the waiting fleet of golf carts. The shotgun start meant that each team would start at the same time on a different hole.

To further spice up an already exciting day, various holes had drinks or games , as well as Hole sponsors who were able to engage with the golfers, while also giving basic caddy advice!

The Hole in One Competition which caught everyone’s attention – the change to win a 24 month lease of an Aston Martin DB9 Volante –thanks to sponsor, Los Gatos Luxury Cars.

At a time when Rugby and Cricket are seeing a lot of growth, we thought it would be fun to highlight these two sports to our community. We did this by incorporating the sports as competitions on the course, also providing us with a give-back opportunity benefiting Play Rugby USA and the Marin Cricket Club. Both competitions played well enabled foursomes to shave a stroke off their score. Two new games to tournament were established to provide a give-back component to the Tournament.

Multiple holes serving Pimm’s, Dunkirk spirit Gin, Redbull and beer kept our players well hydrated in an alternative fashion, and then of course there is always the 19^th hole where players enjoyed networking and the chance to bid on some wonderful silent auction items prior to Awards dinner. As is always the case, our Emcee, Gordon Stirling from the Australian American Chamber of Commerce, presented prizes to our winners – see below. Congratulations on our tournament winners – insert name – and to all the players for an excellent day out supporting the work of the international chambers.
