GDPR – Are You Ready: Mapping the Road to GDPR and ePrivacy Compliance

On Thursday June 1st, Squire Patton Boggs and NCC very kindly hosted an informative training event on Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In Partnership with the Irish American Bar Association, the German American Chamber of Commerce and the BABC Northern California, the event provided attendees with information and an in depth understanding of multiple facets of these new regulations, and the implications that they may have on US businesses, including:

  • The GDPR and ePrivacy’s Key Privacy and Security Requirements
  • How to Plan and Prepare for GDPR and ePrivacy Compliance
  • The Steps Necessary to Become GDPR Compliant
  • The Technological Measures Companies May Need to Take to Secure Data and Respond to Data Subject Requests to Access, Rectify or Erase Personal Data

These topics were dexterously explained by Gretchen Ramos and Phillip Zender of Squire Patton Boggs, and Rob Chahin of NCC Group. Their combined experience in Risk Management, e-commerce, SAAS and litigation allowed them to explain a topic as complicated and diverse as the GDPR in a way that was easily understood and beneficial to all attendees.

The event was a fantastic success, with over 40 attendees who left with a well laid out roadmap on how to more efficiently prepare for and move toward GDPR and ePrivacy compliance. It was followed by a drawing for 60 minutes of free data privacy legal advice for each of the three companies selected.

Our sincere thanks go out to all the attendees, the Sponsors Squire Patton Boggs and NCC Group, the Irish American Bar Association, the German American Chamber of Commerce and the BABC Northern California. Without everyone’s contribution, the event could not have been the success it undoubtedly was.
