Around 60 BABC Members, BABC Wine Circle Members and guests attended our wonderful evening of wine tasting at networking at the spectacular Timothy Oulton Gallery in SOMA on Thursday, October 4, 2012.
On arrival guests were greeted with a wine glass and a map of HD Buttercup marked with the locations of our six wine tasting stations, scattered amongst a veritable Aladdin’s cave of design. We were delighted so many winemakers were able to join us to pour at the event and guests enjoyed a delicious array of wines from many of California’s most sought-after boutique producers, including: Markris-Barrel Club, JAQK Cellars, Sandler, Bjornstad, Lucia, Canihan Family Cellars, Eight Arms, Acorn, Coastview, Fatto Manno, Keefer, Matthis, RED LAVA, Olsen Ogden, Prophet, Tallulah, Field Fair, Le P’tit Payson, Greive and Patz & Hall. Many of these artisan winemakers will be contributing to the first shipment of the
BABC Wine Circle, due to be shipped shortly.
Attendees enjoyed tasting the many different wines on offer at the stations whilst browsing through the creations of one of Britain’s top furniture designers, Timothy Oulton, as well as Maison, Andrew Martin and Lillian August.
The evening was rounded off on the rooftop terrace with a toast from BABC Wine Circle sommelier Micki McGuire to the winemakers who had travelled to pour at the event during their busiest time of year, Harvest. Departing guests were given a gift bag from Timothy Oulton as they left.
The BABC Wine Circle is a unique opportunity to access the finest creations of some of California’s best artisan winemakers in quarterly shipments direct to your home. There is no upfront cost to joining, and members are free to opt out of any shipment, or change level, at any time. Many thanks to our hosts, the Timothy Oulton Gallery and H.D. Buttercup.
