BABC Northern California Announces the BABC Sporting Ambassadors Program

BABC Northern California Announces the BABC Sporting Ambassadors Program and Welcomes Professional Triathlete Laura Siddall as its first BABC Sporting Ambassador

The British American Business Council Northern California is pleased to announce the formation of the BABC Sporting Ambassadors Program. The Program is designed to honor and recognize world class performance and links the sporting disciplines of teamwork, respect, community spirit and the pursuit of excellence with our business community.

We are proud to welcome
Laura Siddall as our first BABC Sporting Ambassador. Laura, a mechanical engineer and former Officer of the British Army, is a British professional triathlete, lives here in the San Francisco Bay Area and competes at the half and full Ironman distance races. In addition, Laura is an Athlete Ambassador for the Women’s Sports Trust (WST), an organization born of the London 2012 Olympics initiative “Inspire a Generation” . The WST aims to promote and encourage greater engagement with women in sport, through participation, spectatorship and media coverage, and creates a platform for role models to emerge.

Over the coming year, the BABC and Laura Siddall will partner to mutually promote and support each other as Laura competes and races around the USA and globally. By promoting Laura’s sporting endeavors, the BABC will support Laura in her goals to become the very best Professional Triathlete on the World Stage and provide Laura with access to our business community for the procurement of sponsorships and the opportunity for our members to access Laura’s corporate experience and elite athlete mentality through her Corporate Leadership & Peak Performance Training Program (at member-preferred rates). In return, Laura will serve as a brand ambassador and spokesperson for the BABC, sporting the BABC logo on her race and training gear, promoting the BABC in her blogs and communicating the benefits of membership in the BABC as a World Class organization.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the BABC,” comments Nicholas Unkovic, President of the BABC Northern California. “We see this as a great opportunity to support a female athlete, and women in sport, and a unique opportunity for the BABC and our members to utilize Laura’s skills and experience and develop a world class partnership.”
