BritishAmerican Business Welcomes New Chief Executive.

London: March 2nd, 2015 – BritishAmerican Business (BAB) announced today the promotion of Jeffries Briginshaw to Chief Executive Officer after Richard Fursland’s recently announced retirement. Mr. Fursland will stay on in a part-time advisory capacity.

Mr. Briginshaw has been with BAB since 2012 serving as Managing Director in London. Before joining BritishAmerican Business, Jeffries worked as EU Director for the TransAtlantic Business Dialogue (TABD) in Brussels from 2007.

Prior to this, he worked at British American Tobacco (BAT) holding a number of positions, most recently Head of Political and Regulatory Affairs (2004 – 2007) and Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, Latin America and Caribbean, (2001 – 2004). With a background at BAT and before as a lawyer, from 1990 to 1993, he worked at the law firm Lovells (now Hogan Lovells) latterly within the intellectual property practice area. He has also worked in public service as Housing Welfare Officer in the London Borough of Lambeth, from 1982 to 1986.

His voluntary service includes positions as Trustee of Vital Voices (2011 – 2014), Advisory Board Member for the Caribbean Council (2011 – present), Chairman on the Caribbean Britain Business Council (2002 – 2007), Director of the Caribbean Council (2005 – 2007), Trustee of the Caribbean Foundation (2005 –present) and Director of EKAYA, a hostel for female ex-offenders (1989 – 1991).

As of March 1, 2015, Jeffries Briginshaw will also take over from Richard Fursland as Chief Executive of the British-American Business Council.
