2017 Clash for the Ashes – Saturday, September 9th, 2017

It was a beautiful sunny day in lovely Larkspur, the perfect setting for the 2017 Clash for the Ashes! More than 150 cricket fans gathered in the pristine Piper Park to watch the feast of cricketing drama between Bay Area Aussies and Englishmen. The game was action packet throughout the England opening of 130 all out. The question of the afternoon being whether or not that was an achievable score was confidently put to rest by the Australians as they finished off the game with a stunning shot for 6!. Thanks to the Marin Cricket Club and all the players for an excellent day!

On behalf of the British American Business Council and the Australian American Chamber of Commerce, we thank everyone for coming along to make this a most fun, festive, relaxing and enjoyable day . Thanks also to Andrew Whittaker, H. M. Consul General to San Francisco and Australia’s Consul General Chris Oldfield for joining us and being part of our special day, as well as Australian cricketing legend Adam Gilchrist!

Of course, huge thanks to all of our donors and volunteers who helped make the day very special for all involved.

Particular thanks to Andy Mackay (2020 Productions) for setting up and dropping of equipment and to Olivia, Jackie, Dawn and friends for manning the food and bar stations!
