2010 Clashes for the Ashes –  Trophy has a new home at the British Consulate!

On what turned out to be a glorious summer’s day in Marin County, this years Clashes for the Ashes Tournament turned over the Trophy to the Brits in an outstanding performance by both teams. Perhaps a great omen for the upcoming “real” Clashes Tournament being held in Australia this fall. One can hope! Thanks to the Marin Cricket Club once again for graciously hosting this fun and increasingly popular event. Though the final score gives tremendous kudos to the Brits, beating the Aussies by 90 points (285/195), in the final analysis, this was an excellent game that ebbed and flowed and with gallant efforts from individuals on both teams who played, as always, with a spirit of camaraderie, fun and mutual respect. The event was extremely well attended and all enjoyed a delicious Aussie-style BBQ, orchestrated by the folks over at the Australian American Chamber of Commerce – all washed down nicely with an excellent array of British Beer (Thanks to Julian and Mary for organizing) and a tasty refreshing selection of Pimms No.1 Cup cocktails! Thanks to everyone who worked the event and made it a great success and to all who attended!
