The month of July was marked by a visit to the UK from President Donald J. Trump, the first time since entering office. The President's visit was the precursor to an announcement by the UK Department for International Trade (DIT) that formal, public consultations will take place on new trade arrangements with Australia, New Zealand and the United States, following the latest meeting of the US-UK Trade and Investment Working Group. The UK also played host to hundreds of US government representatives this month, as they attended one of the most important aerospace events in the world, the Farnborough Airshow , alongside 80,000 other attendees from across the world. The biennial event gathers representatives from the aerospace industry, worldwide governments, and aerospace fans to give businesses the opportunity to foster innovation on aerospace and showcase the newest developments.
BABC's London chapter was happy to welcome to London Secretary of Commerce for the State of Indiana, Jim Schellinger, the Governor of the State of Virginia, Ralph Northam and Secretary of Commerce of the State of North Carolina, Anthony Copeland.
