As a precursor to our submission on the UK Department for International Trade’s consultation on trade negotiations with the United States, BAB has released the following paper on behalf of our wider membership and network. It lays out the key principles for our engagement around the consultation and the work of the UK-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Working Group over the coming months.

British American Business is proud to partner with the Department for International Trade to organize a series of face-to-face discussions between senior representatives of DIT and business leaders from across the UK. Following a successful round-table event in Manchester on 21 September, we maintained the momentum with an event in Birmingham on 1 October, attended by business leaders in the Midlands area, as well as the Secretary of State for International Trade, Dr Liam Fox MP.

July was one of the busiest months of the year so far for the BABC, with the President of the United States visiting the UK for the first time since taking office. Alongside this, a reshuffle in Theresa May's cabinet, and updated Brexit plan agreed at Chequers left no shortage of work for the BABC.
