On Wednesday November 15th the BABC hosted the “Unlocking the commercial potential of VR and AR at the stunning Silicon Foundry offices in the heart of San Francisco. The event was sponsored by Penningtons Manches, Grant Thornton, Silicon Valley Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland and proved to be a fantastic success with over 50 attendees. The event began with a hour for introductions and networking, with attendees being able to experience VR technology first hand thanks to demonstrations from Portico studios and Baobab studios. Portico make use of Virtual Reality as a training mechanism for soft skills, and their demonstration involved training users to check a guest into a Virtual hotel. Baobab studios are world renowned for their immersive VR movies, and guests of the event enjoyed one of their most recent productions.
On Tuesday we hosted our increasingly popular Young Professionals Happy Hour in Cafe Americano at Hotel Vitale. The Young Professionals Committee were delighted to welcome new and returning attendees to this networking event.
On October 24th 2017 the BABC Young Professionals hosted their second Workshop for 2017, titled “Winning - Strategies for effective Leadership and Management”. Kindly sponsored by OFX and Assay Advisory, the event was completely sold out!
On Thursday October 12th the BABC hosted it’s “Women influencing the Built Environment” event at Herman Miller’s showroom in the Financial District. Guests enjoyed the stylistic flair of the office - a perfect backdrop for the event - our thanks to you Herman Miller and Cecilia Lyra. The sold out evening– standing room only - attended by over 70 guests from a broad spectrum of professional backgrounds.
