On October 3rd, 2018, the BABC teamed up with Premier Members Werqwise who hosted the RBS and Grant Thornton Sponsored, 'Fintech and The Consumer' an event that delved into the latest trends affecting the sector. Over 50 guests joined us at Werqwise's state of the art co-working space at 149 New Montgomery Street to hear from our four panelists from various backgrounds in the Financial industry. Their insights, experiences, and predictions on the Financial Technology industry was the forecast in the evening. The panelists brought their experiences from different areas of the industry such as Innovation & Solutions, Legal Practice, Innovative & Disruption startup and a CEO of an industry leading membership body dedicated to the financial sector.
Sixty years ago, British Airways, then called BOAC - British Overseas Airways Corporation - became the first airline to fly a turbo jet engine aircraft between Europe and New York, reducing the journey time from 18 hours to around seven. On October 4,1958 the airline flew two de Havilland Comet 4 aircraft, one from New York to London and the other from London to New York. One of the original cabin crew members, Peggy Thorne, 91, had joined BOAC in 1950 and was hand-picked to serve customers on the first flight.
On September 26th 2018 the BABC teamed up with Premier Members Werqwise, SVN Qav and Turner&Townsend Trestle to bring Disruptions in the Real Estate Industry that delved into the Real Estate Industry's latest trends and current status not only in the Bay Area but America as a whole. The five panelists came from various backgrounds in the Real Estate Industry which was sure to give the well attended audience a greater perspective and broader insight into the various aspects of the Real Estate Industry. Real Estate Brokerage, Global Construction Consulting Firms, Global Commercial Real Estate Services, Co-working shared office space industry expert, Engineering consultancy and Building procurement where the expertise of the panelists which gave the audience an outlook from different angles in which brewed up for a great evenings Real Estate discussion.
The glorious sunshine that greeted attendees as they arrived soon turned to the chilled fog that the bay area has grown accustomed to at the iconic Presidio Golf Course. Luckily it did not take the gloss and shine from the wonderful venue for the 8th Annual Golf Summer Scramble. With a fantastic attendance, the participates warmth and enthusiasm made the tournament the success it was and first of all we would like to thank everyone who supported the event. A huge thanks to meticulous effort from the AACC and BABC that came together once again to make the event Bigger and Better than ever!
