On Wednesday, the BABC Young Professionals Group held the first of two Career Development/Leadership workshops for 2017. The workshop helped attendees learn to become more Discoverable, Shareable and Memorable in the Digital Age through their Personal Branding. The workshop was held at the Accounting, Tax, Audit & Consulting firm BDO and was led by Mel Carson (Delightful Communications). Huge thanks to our host and to Jill Weiner from BDO for your support and taking care of all the fine details. Huge thanks also to our speaker for joining us from Seattle for what was indeed an inspiring and engaging workshop. The attendees learned a lot and left feeling inspired and motivated.
On Tuesday we hosted our increasingly popular Young Professionals Happy Hour in Cafe Americano at Hotel Vitale. The Young Professionals Committee were delighted to welcome new and returning attendees to this networking event. This month, guests represented a variety of industries including renewable energy, engineering, banking, internet security and marketing.
The “Spring European Networking Evening” was organized by the German American Business Association, French American Chamber of Commerce San Francisco and the British American Business Council Northern California. The evening was hosted at International Law Firm Cooley LLP and welcomed over 70 attendees from a diverse range of businesses. The event was also sponsored by translation and interpretation service provider CyraCom and it's subsidiary Voiance. It provided the attendees with the opportunity to connect and network with the European-American business community in a relaxed and professional atmosphere.
On April 19th 2017, Patron Member Hogan Lovells and Premier Member Fitzgerald & Law once again joined forces for the 3rd annual Global Words of Wisdom event. Peter Watts (Hogan Lovells) and Melissa Harkcom (Fitzgerald & Law) were joined by H.M Consul General Andrew Whittaker, Sean Randolph (Bay Area Economic Institute) and Alastair Paterson (Digital Shadows) for an esteemed panel discussion on life after Brexit. The discussion was moderated by BABC Chairman and CEO of Venturexcel, Colin Brown.
